Not All K-POP Idols are Skinny.

This actually part 2 to my other post "Not all K-POP idols are skinny...right?" so if you want to, you can read that first.

http://thesparetimecorner.blogspot.com.au/2012/07/not-all-k-pop-idols-are-skinnyright.html

So just recently, well...today actually, a new YG rookie had their debut :D It's a solo artist by the name of Lee Hi~ (If you're a eatyourkimchi fan or you like Simon and Martina, apparently Lee Hi was a student of theirs) Her debut song is called '1, 2, 3, 4' and before that I think she was on this talent show called 'K-POP Star' or something like that.

Anyway, back to the point or deal or whatever you call it. I was just watching her video and realised something. She has a figure that's different to the 'average' stick-thin K-POP girls out there. I'm not calling her fat, I'm actually trying to make a point here.

Lee Hi in '1, 2, 3, 4'
If you can't see her (how can you miss her when she's in the middle of the picture), she's the girl in the green. I'm sorry if the picture's blurry. I just took a screenshot because the video came out today and there were no 'good' screenshots so yeah.

As you can see, her thighs aren't super skinny. That's actually the size of my thighs... T^T Same with her calves. It's not all fat, you can see the muscle but I think there should be more people like these and less girls who look almost malnourished (not to be mean or anything). Also, from looking at her face you can tell she's a little on the chubby side.

Lee Hi in '1, 2, 3, 4'
So that's another snippet (more like screenshot) from Lee Hi's new video. This was the first part I thought of where they had a good long close up on her face but you can tell her face is slightly chubby. To be honest, I think YG should've made her cute instead but that's my opinion.

Like I said in my other post, idols like this could be role models. I really hope Lee Hi doesn't go skinny and all because at the moment she's one of the reasons why I still believe I can be a K-POP Idol even with the body size I have :) You guys out there who have the same dreams as me but are too scared because you're not perfect, you should look up to Lee Hi too~! Don't let weight, appearance, or anything like that be an obstacle! The only thing that's stopping me right now is stage fright so the self-esteem isn't my biggest problem...it was, though. BUT THAT'S NOT THE POINT. Don't let anything get in your way (unless it's your parents-that I can't really help with)!!!

Hope this gave you some joy and hope to keep following your dreams and maybe pursue it! :D Thanks for reading this post too :3 <3

BIRTHDAY DINNER >:D

Today was Rachel's birthday dinner~~~ :D Just came back and my stomach is bloated. Literally. So there were 8 people, some I just met today, and we had a great time! We had Thai food but I've never eaten a lot of Thai so I wasn't sure how it would taste but I really liked it!

We had 3 plates of Pad Thai (I think that's how you spell it...) and 3 plates of fried rice shared between the 8 of us. Plus two 8 spring rolls and 8 'money bags'. It didn't seem like much food but there was so much Rachel had to take-away the left overs...

After the main dishes we waited FOREVER for the dessert. OMG I was about to write desert. Anyways. So there was a teacher that Rachel and everyone else but me knew and she ordered a special ice-cream sundae with a candle in it just for Rachel :3 That's a great teacher..I wish I had one like that. So we waited for a bit more while Rachel casually ate her special sundae and there it came. A monstrous bowl full of ice-cream, lollies and sweets and some cherries and other berries. IT WAS GLORIOUS, I TELL YOU. Everyone near our table were staring at us and this lady came up to see what it was xD There was also this kid who kept looking over at our table, probably amazed by the massive bowl of sweet, delicious dessert. It was pretty crazy because we all finished within half an hour. I currently have a stomach ache from all that sugar.

Once the eating was done, it was picture time. Selfies, silly pictures, everyone had their phones and cameras out. I have to admit, it was one crazy night all together and I had so much fun :)))

Love you Rachel and hope you like my present :D Oh yeah, if you wanna know what I got her, I bought her a straightener and drew a picture of her (that's why I'm not putting the picture up because then you'll know what she looks like XD).

Happy Birthday to My Bestest Friend

So, today's my best friend Rachel's birthday. Since we go to different schools I couldn't wish her face-to-face and I tried texting her but the stupid thing didn't send =_= AGGGHHHH!!!! <--That's me rage quitting there. I did wish her on Facebook (that's the only way to do it these days). I would call her but I'm seeing her tomorrow for her birthday dinner so it's all good :)

I can't say what I got her for her birthday just yet because she reads my blog so it'll have to wait for tomorrow ;D I am also working on a drawing for her so I might put that up too. But this'll all have to wait till tomorrow night after the birthday dinner or Saturday because she might read it xD

Once again, happy birthday to Rachel~ She's such a cutie :3

I LOVE YOU RACHEL IF YOU'RE READING THIS.

Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream Review

Hello everyone~ ^^ I feel cheerful today :3

So if you haven't already read the title, I'm going to be doing my first make-up product review~~!!! I have no idea why I didn't do this earlier because I've had this since April...anyway, here it is!

I think that's a promotional picture...? Haha XD Plus, it's Park Shin Hye~

[You can skip this section if you want:
If you don't know what BB Cream is, it stands for blemish balm cream. Originated from Germany but is now extremely popular in Asia and is currently increasing in popularity in Western countries like USA and Australia (but those brands aren't as good ;D stick to Asian brands lol). It can be used as a concealer but if you have EXTREMELY dark circles under your eyes, it might not work so well and may still need to use actual concealer.]

Okay, first of all, I just wanna say, I really love this BB Cream. To be honest, I haven't tried others (so this would be my first) but I find it really good. Um, I bought this particular brand because of Martina from eatyourkimchi on Youtube :) She did a review on it too and said it was really good so I decided to try it out.

The BB Cream is very light on your skin, that's for sure. It doesn't make your face very heavy throughout the day and can cover small spots and blemishes really well. Since I have really dark circles under my eyes (naturally but I think the lack of sleep adds to it) I don't really bother to apply BB Cream there BUT. Sometimes I do apply it there to even out my skin colour. In all honesty, I hardly use foundation and concealer (in fact I don't use it at all) because I'm a little young for all this make-up stuff but I use BB Cream on a weekly basis; not daily because my skin's acne prone and all those hormone things during puberty :P

Back to the review.

This product IS a face whitening one, it will make your face really white if you have a tanned skin tone. When you're testing BB Creams, the colour of it on your hand comes out COMPLETELY different on your face. Don't ask me why, I don't know. So, the product may look light on you hand and may look like it's the perfect shade for your face but it could be the complete opposite and make your face look like a ghost. Just sayin'. Also, I learnt this the hard way. I tried it on my hand, thought it was alright, bought it, tried it on my face, and turned out that it was a couple shades lighter than my actual skin tone...I still love this product though ^_^ Glad I bought it~

Coverage-wise, this BB cream has pretty good coverage HOWEVER it will only last for a few hours (give or take a couple more depending on the environment and what you're doing). I spend around six hours in school and at the start of the day you can barely see the blemishes and whatnot but the moment I get back, it goes back to how my skin originally was before applying the cream (with a little extra oil- ew). It's still there and everything when I remove it, but it does appear as if you've got nothing on.

Anyway, that's all I have to say, really. That's basically the general things you want to know about this BB Cream. Nothing much to know about.

A TIP: Before applying the BB Cream put some moisturiser or mix the BB Cream with some lotion because it does makes a difference.

Overall rating: ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆
Origin: South Korea
Price: HK$79

If you wanted to know, I bought my BB Cream (and a few more cosmetics) in Hong Kong because it is much cheaper there than a lot of places. Singapore doesn't really have cheap cosmetics compared to Australia because the currency rate is almost equal so yeah...Malaysia is cheaper but (even if I haven't travelled to many places) Hong Kong is the cheapest I've seen-online too. There are a few cosmetic stores on EVERY street in Hong Kong; many of them from the same chain. Two really big cosmetic stores (not literally big, but popular big)-one called Sasa and the other one called Bonjour-both have online stores and they also have discounts and sales too! So for all you international people who can't go to Hong Kong go visit their online stores~! ^^ Hope you liked this review and hope you learnt a lot from it! :D

Hello Korean with Lee Junki-Info

I don't think I told you this but I got a book that will help me learn Korean :') FINALLY. Aaaaannndd it's with my favourite actor, which makes it even better ;D

Around $25 :)

So that's what it looks like (the English one, anyway) when i first opened it's plastic wrapping. The brown part is removable-it's sorta like this paper that goes around the back too but there are tabs that fold into the cover page. It's hard to explain but all you need to know is that it's removable but in all honesty the book looks better with it on than off.

Um, if you've researched this book beforehand, you should already know that this comes with a CD-two, in fact. If you didn't know and this is the first time you've read about it you should already know too since I just said it.

So this book is sort of like a text book. It has this section where you read along with the CD, this part full of words that are related to the matter, this section where it teaches you Korean grammar (use with particles-I can't really explain it but the closest thing to it in the English language would be conjunctions-and other stuff...XD) and even if it doesn't mention sentence structure you'll get to understand it more since it highlights the important bits in the sentence. There's also this section where you write. They'll first ask you to fill in the blanks then they'll then ask you to try to write the whole sentence by yourself.

For me, normally I hate to write but for this, I enjoy writing Korean because it looks so neat ^_^ At the end of the chapter (forgot to mention the book goes in chapters), you'll listen to a dialog of this girl and Lee Junki (there are many different characters in the book but Lee Junki and the girl voice all of them, I think) once via CD then you will have a turn to 'speak' with Lee Junki, replacing the girl, but the conversation goes really quickly because Lee Junki and the girl speak really quickly and it's hard for you to keep up but I suppose you'll just have to learn to speak faster. So this is will be the format throughout the whole book. Even though it's repetitive it still teaches you a lot. There's also a bonus- you get to listen to Junki's sexy, deep voice. It's very soothing and you should Google the songs he's sung. My personal favourites' Selfless Dedicated Trees and Let Me Tell You so go listen~

Oh, um...the instructions in the book are in English but it's not on the CD and also, all the conversation and dialogs are written in Korean but don't worry. Before all that stuff I said was in the book, there's this whole section on how to pronounce characters, how to read it and just some more basic things about reading and writing.

Shin Dongho's recovery :)

Great news, everyone! Eli has both tweeted and stated in an interview that Dongho is recovering quickly and is doing well! :D YAY~

That was Australia's Jamaica Dela Cruz in Korea :) SBS Popasia FTW. If you're Australian check out their website. They have a Sunday show that plays Asian Pop~

Anyway, from what Eli has said Dongho is doing fine :D We should still show our support, though :)

Get Well Soon, Shin Dongho

Just yesterday, I read on allkpop that Dongho had been hospitalised and had to stop all promotional activities. Before I read the article I saw a comment somewhere wishing Dongho to recover quickly. I was a little confused then because I knew Dongho was hospitalised before maybe last year but why was that person saying it now? Then I read the article, blah, blah, blah and turns out that Dongho has this lung condition called pleurisy.

(Human bio lesson ->) Pleurisy's the inflammation of the lining of the lungs and causes sharp pains in the chest. Apparently the main cause for it are infections but I can't say for sure what caused it in Dongho's case.

So, just saying, if you're a KissMe or a Dongholic please show your support for Dongho! If you didn't read the alkpop article, it states that Dongho might need to undergo surgery. Let's pray and hope that he won't need it and will recover shortly!

DONGHO FIGHTING~!
We KissMes will support you every step of the way!

Happy Birthday to Me

It's FINALLY my very special birthday~! Well, special to me anyway. I suppose I don't feel much different, apart from the fact that I'm a year older, but I got presents :3 I LOVE PRESENTS.

My parents gave me a Wacom drawing tablet, 2 K-POP posters (Jung Yong Hwa and Big Bang) and a Hello Korean with Lee Junki <3 Already started to read the book XD One of my friends gave me a nice scented teddy bear, a Cotton On gift card and a video dedicated to me :) Another one of them gave me earrings, a really nice necklace and nail polish (but my mum doesn't allow me to put nail polish on because I bite my nails =_= OH WELL). Oh, and my sister got me the Pig-rabbit doll from the drama, 'You're Beautiful' :3 So coooootttteeeee <3 Love them all for getting me those things~

On facebook, my friends all wished me happy birthday and all but to be honest, I bet half of them were just being polite. All they wrote was 'Happy Birthday *smiley face*'. Seriously guys? C'mon. I suppose I can't talk because most of the time I do it but no one needs to know that >_<.

Tuesday is back-to-school day and I have this assignment on poems due but I think I'll leave the work for tomorrow ;) Oh, that reminds me...I'm going out for Korean tomorrow night~ YES! I love Korean food even though it's so damn spicy XD I might write a review for that restaurant for those people in W.A who wants to go to a nice Korean restaurant...haha.

If you wanted to know, I'm not really writing my U-KISS fanfic at the moment because I'm too caught up into writing my other one (if you didn't know go check out my asianfanfics account-I only posted it there). I'm also not producing any paintings lately because I'm too lazy some times and painting is very time-consuming...

BYE FOR NOW <3
